Purpose

Reasons for the decision
 
To arrange for statutory
consultation on the draft Milton Keynes allocation scheme, enabling
members of the public to make comments on any new proposed
rules.
 
To enable further work (to
support a later formal decision) such as gathering the views of
stakeholders, equalities impact assessment, developing
implementation plans, and other necessary arrangements, to
commence.
 
To ensure that the Council can
continue to deliver its statutory functions in a timely
way.
 
To ensure that the Milton
Keynes allocation scheme can be delivered by the current budget
agreed for staffing without unnecessary backlogs of
work.

Content

1. That a public consultation on revised
housing allocation scheme for Milton Keynes commence on Monday 2
September 2024, ending on 2 December 2024.

2. That the summary of proposed changes to the scheme (as set out
in section 3.5 of the report), be noted.

3. That the proposed scrutiny of the changes, ahead of a Delegated
Decision later this year, informed by the public consultation, be
noted.
