RESOLVED -
1.
That a review of the Hearing
Procedure within the Council’s Arrangements for Dealing with
Standards Complaints under the Localism Act 2011, be undertaken
during the 2024-25 Council year.
2.
That a politically balanced
Councillor Working group, supported by officers, be established to
undertake a review of the Council’s Hearing Procedure
and:
a)
Authority be delegated to the
Director of Law and Governance to finalise the arrangements for the
working group, including membership;
b)
To approve the schedule of
amendments proposed at Annex A for review by the Working Group,
with any additional matters to be confirmed by the Working
Group;
c)
That Parish and Town Councils
be consulted on the review and that any feedback be considered as
part of the final recommendations about the Hearing Procedure,
noting that the decision of any hearing can only make
recommendations to a Parish or Town Council;
d)
That Independent Persons be
consulted on the review and any feedback be considered as part of
the final recommendations about any changes to the Hearing
Procedure.
