Members considered the skills, knowledge and competencies required by Members serving on the Governance and Audit Committee and Standards Committee, and discussed any gaps within the current induction and development programme.

Recommendations were suggested regarding additional subjects, training modules, workshops or development activities that should be incorporated into future Member induction and development programmes.

RESOLVED: That the outcomes of the joint discussion be incorporated into the Council's ongoing Member Development Strategy and future induction arrangements following local government elections.
