Purpose

To secure Portfolio Holder approval to use Section 106 contributions held by the District Council for improvements to the children’s play area at Fourth Avenue, Edwinstowe.

Decision

AGREED that:

a)      a Section 106 contribution of £21,707.36 secured through AG1180 and held by the District Council to be used toward the provision, maintenance, repair or enhancement of community facilities in Edwinstowe be paid to Edwinstowe Parish Councill, for improvements at the children’s play area at Fourth Avenue, Edwinstowe; and

b)      the Council’s Capital Programme is increased by £21,707.36, financed by Section 106 agreement AG1180 Community Facilities Contribution.

Reasons for the decision

To enable S106 monies held for suitable projects in Edwinstowe to be delivered by Edwinstowe Parish Council in accordance with the terms of agreement AG1180 and to enable improvements at the Fourth Avenue children’s play area.

Alternative options considered

The Section 106 receipts held under this agreement have to spent on community facilities in (the vicinity of the Thoresby Vale site) Edwinstowe accordance with the S106 Agreement AG1180.

This proposal was agreed as a suitable scheme for a S106 contribution by the Thoresby Vale Working Group, established to receive, consider, and recommended suitable projects for investment to the District Council at its meeting on 16 July 2024 and is therefore now presented for formal approval.
