Purpose

To accept a grant from UK Sport, on behalf of
DCMS contributing up to £8,604,260 towards the total costs of
hosting Euro 28 in Newcastle.
To accept a grant from the North East Combined Authority
contributing up to £2,937,210 towards the total costs of
hosting Euro 28 in Newcastle.
To enter into Grant Funding Agreements with both UK Sport and North
East Combined Authority in order to accept both grants.

Content

The recommendation is
to give authority to the Deputy Chief Executive Officer to finalise
the detail and enter into all agreements on behalf of the City
Council in consultation with the Assistant Director Legal
Services.
