Purpose

The purpose of the report is to seek approval
for the use of up to £6,000 (ex VAT) of s106 funds to
contribute towards the costs of a phase 1 and phase 2 (intrusive)
geo-environmental investigation and contamination assessment
required prior to the development of the site for public allotment
gardens.

The Deputy Chief
Executive is recommended to approve the release of up to
£6,000 (ex VAT) s106 funds already received from developers
towards the costs of a geo-environmental investigation and
contamination assessment.
Note that these funds
come from 1999/1300/121/RVC – NGP and these works are taking
place prior to planning approval being sought to ensure that the
site is suitable for use as allotments within the total budget.
