Purpose

The Community Opportunities Framework is a new
contract structure which covers a range of community opportunities
to provide appropriate social inclusion and carer relief, so that
people can live independent, safe and active lives. It will offer
flexible, high-quality support, with a focus on connecting people
to their communities, maximising independence, and helping to
prevent admission into long term residential care or hospital.
 
This report will seek approval of the
commissioning intentions for the Framework and to delegate the
award of contracts to deliver these services, following a
competitive procurement exercise, to the Director of Adult Social
Care and Prevention.
