Purpose

This report considers the
representations received following the formal consultation for the
proposal to vary the City of Newcastle upon Tyne (Off Street
Parking Places Order) 2021 to introduce parking charges for the
period 7.00pm until midnight on Friday and Saturday nights at
Grainger Town MSCP and Dean Street MSCP and to keep the car parks
open 24 hours during this period.

The Assistant Director
of City Operations, Neighbourhoods and Regulatory Services is
recommended:
To introduce a nominal
parking charge on Friday and Saturday nights between 7.00pm and
midnight at Dean Street MSCP and Grainger Town MSCP, and to keep
both car parks open 24/7 during the weekend as detailed in section
3.
Authorise the
Assistant Director Legal Services to vary the City of Newcastle
upon Tyne (Off Street Parking Places) Order 2021 (the “2021
Off Street Order”), to make the changes referred to in 2.2
above.
