Purpose

Cabinet is requested
to consider the comments of scrutiny on the budget proposals and to
take them into account in finalising the budget proposals for City
Council.

Content

Cabinet agreed to:
 

i) 
Consider the comments and concerns of scrutiny on the draft budget
for 2026-27 and the draft medium-term financial plan for the period
from 2026-27 to 2028-29 and take them into account in finalising
the budget recommendations to be submitted to City Council.

 

ii) 
Note that scrutiny will maintain a degree of oversight of the
budget process as well as continuing to monitor and review
implementation and impact of budget proposals during the coming
municipal year. This may also include a review of responses
received to the budget consultation from the public and
stakeholders and budget changes that have been made as a
result.
