Purpose

This report seeks approval to prepare and advertise the required notice for a proposed signalised Toucan crossing on Ponteland Road, to the south of the Metro bridge.  It also seeks authority to establish the crossing as advertised, provided that the Chief Officer of Police raises no objection and no objections are received during the statutory notice period.

Decision

The decision maker is recommended to:

i.  Approve the proposals described in this report;

ii.  Authorise the preparation and advertisement of any notices required in respect of the proposed measures; and

iii.  Authorise the proposed measures to be implemented as advertised, provided that no objections are received during the relevant consultation or statutory notice period.
