Purpose

This report seeks approval to progress proposals to amend the existing traffic restriction on the right turn from Swing Bridge onto Sandhill by introducing a bus gate permitting buses and cycles only. The report also seeks authority to undertake the necessary statutory advertisement and consultation process.

Decision

The decision maker is recommended to:

i.  Approve the proposals described in this report;

ii.  Authorise the preparation and advertisement of any notices required in respect of the proposed measures; and

iii.  Authorise the proposed measures to be implemented as advertised, provided that no objections are received during the relevant consultation or statutory notice period.
