To approve the 2026/27 draft scheme for
concessionary fares reimbursement for publication.

Reasons for the decision

The “Draft Scheme” for
concessionary follows the DfT guidance. The draft scheme must be
published by 1 December. This allows an opportunity for transport
operators and affected residents to comment prior to final
publication of scheme arrangements at the beginning of March
– 28 days before the scheme starts on April 1st.

Alternative options considered

Not approving the Draft concessionary fare
scheme for publication - this would leave the council without a
method of reimbursing bus and rail operators for concessionary bus
passes.
