Purpose
North East Museums (NEM) is a regional museum, art gallery and archives service. It manages twelve museums and galleries across North East England and the Archives for Tyne and Wear.
NEM are seeking to streamline their trading governance by replacing the separate entities TWAMe and EBT with a single, combined company North East Museums Ltd. This will ensure that NEM has appropriate governance structures to maximum the opportunity to generate income to support the NEM mission.
The restructuring requires the unanimous consent of the five shareholders under the TWAMe shareholder agreement.
Approval is sought via an officer Delegated Decision for North Tyneside Council as a shareholder of NEM to the proposed changes.
