Purpose

This Record of Decision relates to the approval given by the Interim Director of Resources to exercise his E.32 delegation as set out in the Authority’s Financial Regulations (June 2025) to accept the Grant Funding referred to in the report and to agree to the Authority entering into the Grant Funding Agreement (GFA) with the North East Mayoral Strategic Authority.

Agreeing to accept the Grant Funding and to the Authority entering into the GFA will enable the Authority to receive grant funding of £181,864.00 from the North East Mayoral Strategic Authority’s Electric Vehicle Pavement Channels (EVPC) Grant allocation.

The Grant would be used for the provision of pavement channels for electric vehicle (EV) charging at eligible households in the borough. A pavement channel involves an enclosed channel being cut through the footway, allowing a resident to run a cable through the channel to charge their electric vehicle parked on the street from their domestic supply.
