Purpose

On 13th July 2026 the Director of Regeneration and Economic Development authorised
(1) that notices for the proposal should be prepared and advertised in line with relevant statutory requirements; and

(3) that if no objections were received following the period of consultation required by statute, the Traffic Regulation Order shall be made.

The notices were prepared and advertised in accordance with the statutory requirements and no objections were received during the statutory advertising period.

Therefore, the circumstances do not warrant the holding of a Public Inquiry and the Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) should be made to implement “school keep clear” restrictions in the vicinity of Whitehouse Primary School on Whitehouse Lane, North Shields in accordance with section 1.5.2 and Appendix 1 of the Delegated Decision Report of the 13th July 2026.
