To undertake a procurement exercise under the YPO Crematoria Solutions III – 1032 Framework Agreement for the replacement of two cremators, including a full lifetime maintenance and servicing package, at Woodlands Crematorium, Scarborough.

Reasons for the decision

The existing cremators at Woodlands crematorium are due for replacement and continued use will lead to rising maintenance and operational costs. A further competition procurement exercise will be undertaken between October and December 2026 utilising the YPO Crematoria Solutions III – 1032 Framework Agreement. The scheme is programmed to commence on site Summer 2027 and complete Autumn 2027.

Alternative options considered

To not undertake a procurement exercise – this was not considered viable as the current cremators at Woodlands are due for replacement and continued use will lead to increased maintenance and operational costs
