Purpose

The North East Mayoral Strategic Authority (North East MSA) is consulting on a proposed bus franchising
scheme. This report will consider the council's response to this consultation.

Decision

RESOLVED that:-

(a)      Cabinet, as a statutory consultee, receive and acknowledge the Franchise Scheme Assessment Consultation document and associated statutory consultation documents published by NEMSA;

(b)      Cabinet delegate authority to the Executive Director for Place and Regeneration, in consultation with the Deputy Leader as relevant Portfolio Holder with responsibility for public transport, to submit Northumberland County Council’s response to NEMSA’s statutory consultation on the proposed franchising of the North East bus network; and

(c)      Cabinet agree to receive further reports on the outcome of the statutory consultation and any subsequent decisions relating to the proposed franchising scheme.
