Purpose
To ensure that Oldham residents have access to
comprehensive infant feeding support, including a dedicated Infant
Feeding Peer Support Service.
The purpose of the report is to seek approval to:
(a) extend the collaboration agreement for the Infant Feeding Peer
Support Service with Tameside Council (as lead commissioner) and
approve the increase of Oldham Council’s contribution
(b) authorise Tameside Council to enact the right to extend the
term of the contract between Tameside Council (as lead
commissioner) and the provider for the Infant Feeding Peer Support
Service, for a period of 12 months from 1 April 2025 until 31 March
2026.
Content
RESOLVED - That:
To approve the continuation of the collaborative commissioning
agreement with Tameside Council and request that they enact the
contract extension and vary the contract to increase both
Tameside’s and Oldham’s contributions, for a period of
12 months from 1 April 2025 to 31 March 2026.
Reasons for the decision
Option 1 - To cease the collaborative
commissioning arrangements with Tameside Council at the end of the
initial term of the current agreement (31 March 2025) and to not
support the extension of the contract between Tameside Council and
the provider.
Option 2 - To approve the continuation of the collaborative
commissioning agreement with Tameside Council and request that they
enact the contract extension at the original contribution rate for
Oldham (no uplift or additional investment).
Option 3 - To approve the continuation of the collaborative
commissioning agreement with Tameside Council and request that they
enact the contract extension and vary the contract to increase both
Tameside’s and Oldham’s contribution, to support an
uplift in staffing costs only for a period of 12 months from 1
April 2025 to 31 March 2026.
Option 4 - To approve the continuation of the collaborative
commissioning agreement with Tameside Council and request that they
enact the contract extension and vary the contract to increase both
Tameside’s and Oldham’s contributions, for a period of
12 months from 1 April 2025 to 31 March 2026.
Option 5 - To approve the continuation of the collaborative
commissioning agreement with Tameside Council and request that they
enact the contract extension and vary the contract to increase both
Tameside’s and Oldham’s contributions, for a period of
12 months from 1 April 2025 to 31 March 2026.
Alternative options considered
Option 1 - To cease the collaborative
commissioning arrangements with Tameside Council at the end of the
