Trading Standards De-coupling (PCC/CCC Shared Service) - JULY25/CMDN/12

July 4, 2025 Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Finance and Corporate Governance (Cabinet member) Key decision Approved View on council website
Full council record

Purpose

A shared Trading Standards service
has existed between PCC and CCC since 1st April 2017. Following
political changes and the development of individual senior
leadership teams within each authority the service will now be
de-coupled. Establishing separate teams will allow a focus on local
issues and priorities and provide the ability to respond to
differing challenges across rural and urban
areas.

Decision

The Cabinet Member:

1. Authorised the termination of
the Delegation and Collaboration Agreement for the provision of
Trading Standards Services by PCC to CCC with effect from 4th
January 2026 (or earlier if agreed by both authorities).

2. Authorised the Director of Law
and Governance or delegated officers to enter into any legal
documentation in relation to Recommendation 1.
