Purpose

To provide an update on the Vine
and seek approval to award the necessary construction
contracts. 

Decision

 Cabinet: 

 

1.    
Approved a virement of
£360,000 from the Strategic Property Capital Budget to
Peterscourt and note the subsequently amended budget as set out in
section 2.8 of this report; 

 

2.    
Subject to all necessary grant
related approvals being in place: 

 

a.    
Authorised the novation or
assignment of the existing contract with Pick Everard relating to
multi-disciplinary services to Cleggs Construction
Limited; 

b.    
Authorised the award of a contract
relating to a refurbishment at Central Library to Cleggs
Construction Limited for up to £6,806,376 and to enter into a
Pre-Construction Services Agreement and Delivery
Agreement; 

c.     
Authorised the award of a
construction contract to the successful contractor for the
Peterscourt project and to enter into any related legal agreements,
subject to approval from legal services, procurement and
finance. 

 

3.    
Delegated authority to the
Executive Director for Place and Economy to enter into contract
with a Principal Contractor for Peterscourt, subject to all
necessary grant related approvals being in
place.  

 

4.    
Delegated authority to the
Executive Director for Place and Economy, in consultation with the
Executive Director for Corporate Services, the Director of Law and
Governance, and the Cabinet Member for Finance and Corporate
Governance to take all necessary steps to facilitate
recommendations (1) and (2), including entering into any necessary
agreements.

Bridge Street is being separately presented to Cabinet in July
