Full council record

Purpose

Approval of draft LNRS to allow it to go out for wider public
consultation

Decision

Cabinet resolved to support
Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority’s proposal
to commence consultation on the draft Local Nature Recovery
Strategy.

The full report can be found at
the bottom of this page.

A request to invoke urgency
procedures for this decision was approved by the Monitoring Officer
and the Chair of the Economy, Inclusive Growth and Environment
Scrutiny Committee on 10 July 2025.  The three-day call-in period for this decision
will be waived and the decision can be implemented
immediately.

The reason for approving this
request is to ensure that the Council’s response to the
Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority (CPCA) can be
submitted prior to it beginning its public consultation on 18 July
2025. If this call-in period is not waived, the CPCA would be able
to legally interpret the non-response as support for the proposal
without any input from the Council.
