Purpose

The Council was presented with a
petition at its meeting on 23 July 2025 in relation to reinstating
school crossing patrols. The petition was debated and the Council
resolved to:

 

Refer the decision to remove
school crossing patrols to the next available meeting of Cabinet so
that Officers can provide a report for Cabinet to review and
determine whether the decision should go forward or not.

Decision

Cabinet reviewed the information
in this report and upheld the original decision made by Council as
part of the 2024/25 budget and did not reinstate the school
crossing patrol service and instead implemented additional
mitigation measures.
