Purpose

To review the outline business
case for the development of a replacement regional pool and sports
quarter.

Decision

Cabinet RESOLVED
unanimously to: 

 

1.    
Consider the redevelopment options
for a new swimming pool to replace the Regional Pool and approve in
principle the preferred option of an 8 lane 25m pool as set out in
paragraph 2.6 of the report, subject to sufficient funding becoming
available from Government grants; 

 

2.    
Delegate authority to the
Executive Director for Place and Economy and the Executive Director
for Corporate Services and Section 151 Officer to develop a
detailed business plan for submission to Government, Cambridgeshire
and Peterborough Combined Authority and other external funders to
attract capital funding for the development of the capital works;
and 

 

3.    
Delegate authority to the
Executive Director for Place and Economy and the Executive Director
for Corporate Services and Section 151 Officer to submit a grant
application to the Growth Mission Fund announced in the
Government’s spending review.??
