Purpose

The recommendation is for the Council to become
Members of the NPP Consortium Ltd, to give the Council the ability
to vote on future decisions in relation to operating the National
Parking Platform. The Council has been participating in the
National Parking Platform since April 2024, initially as part of
the Department for Transport funded pilot scheme - this has given
motorists the choice of which cashless parking app they use to pay
for their parking. This decision is recommending that the Council
become Members of the NPP Consortium Ltd, the new body formed to
operate the National Parking Platform as a not for profit
organisation. Decision intends to also give delegated authority to Executive Director
for Place and Economy to determine all decisions and to act on
behalf of the Council as member of NPP Consortium
Ltd
