Purpose

The provision of Refuge and Safe
Accommodation for victims of domestic abuse is a key element of the
council’s Safe Accommodation Strategy, a requirement in the
Domestic Abuse Act. The procurement process which seeks to identify
an accommodation provider will close in October 2025. The new
contract will go live, subject to approval, on 1st April
2026.

Cabinet RESOLVED
to:

1.    
Approve the award of a contract to
Peterborough Women’s Aid (charity number 1180370) to provide
support for victims of domestic abuse within a domestic abuse
refuge or safe accommodation for a 3-year period commencing on 1
April 2026, with an additional option of two one-year extension
period, for an estimated contract value of up to £170,000 per
contract year.

 

2.    
Authorise the Executive Director
for Place and Economy, at their discretion, to exercise the
optional contract extensions, and extend the contract for a further
two periods of 12 months in accordance with contract
provisions.
