Purpose

To establish a Crisis Resilience Fund and agree funding to
community organisations to provide crisis support across the city.
Cabinet will also be asked to agree a policy for awarding crisis
payments to residents in financial need.

Decision

Cabinet RESOLVED to:

1.    
Note the requirements from
Government to deliver the Crisis Resilience Fund in Peterborough
and deliver this from 1 April 2026 until 31 March 2029. The Crisis
Resilience Fund will focus on supporting households who are
experiencing a sudden financial shock and help to support them to
build greater financial resilience.

2.    
Approve the Policy for cash
support through a crisis payment scheme. (Appendix 2 -
Exempt).

3.    
Approve the Council to enter into
a grant funding agreement with Peterborough Citizens Advice to
grant £900,000 relating to the Income Maximisation project
for the period 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2029.

4.    
Delegate authority to the
Executive Director of Adult Social Care and Commissioning in
consultation with the Cabinet Member for Communities, Poverty and
Public Health, the Director of Legal and Governance (MO)and
theExecutive Director of Corporate Services (s.151 Officer) to
grant fund voluntary, faith, community or other organisations to
deliver services or activities that meet the outcomes of the Crisis
Resilience Fund.

5.    
Delegate authority to the
Executive Director of Adult Social Care and Commissioning to enter
into grant funding agreements with successful providers relating to
the recommendations, subject to advice and support from Legal
Services.
