Content

1.   
Approved Option C as described in the Business Case as
the proposed approach to delivering additional Affordable Extra
Care Housing capacity in the city using an external
partner.
2.   
Approved Revenue Expenditure of up to £203,000 to
deliver 60 Extra Care units using an external partner on the
Edinburgh House site to support adults with care needs to maintain
independence within their own home for as long as possible.
      
3.   
Noted the potential cost avoidance associated with
supporting residents with higher care needs in Extra Care Housing
rather than residential care of £200,000 per annum for
Edinburgh House.
4.   
Agreed to write to elected members in Hampshire County
Council, Havant, Gosport and Fareham Borough Councils to indicate a
willingness to work together in sharing experience of developing
Extra Care in Portsmouth.
