Planning Applications Committee

The Planning Applications Committee is responsible for deciding on a range of planning-related applications within Reading. This includes applications for planning permission, approval of reserved matters, variations of conditions, advertisement consent, and works affecting trees. The committee also determines applications called-in by a Councillor, those submitted by councillors or council employees, and major developments where officers recommend approval. It also handles additions or removals from the Local List and the approval of street names. While officers can determine most applications under delegated powers, the committee retains oversight of specific, significant, or sensitive cases.
