Purpose

The Council appoints representatives to serve
on numerous outside bodies, including local community stakeholders
and regional and national organisations, to ensure that the Council
is represented on a range of organisations and bodies working with
the community and Borough. The Council shares a mutual interest in
supporting and delivering public services for residents with these
organisations.

Nominations were sought from Group Leaders via email in May 2024
and subsequently agreed by Group Leaders at their meeting on 8 July
2024 . These nominations are therefore recommended for approval
under delegated authority by the Strategic Head of Legal and
Governance.

Paragraph 4 of Part 3b of the Officer Scheme of Delegation permits
the Managing Director to delegate authority to determine this
function in the case of absence, which is in relation to paragraph
1.14 of the Officer Scheme of Delegation (to appoint
representatives to outside bodies for uncontested vacancies).

The Strategic Head of Legal and Governance under delegated
authority approved these appointments on 19 June 2024.

To appoint the representatives to outside
bodies listed under Annex 1.
