The Cabinet considered a report of the
Director of Economy and Place, which sought to inform of the
performance of the Council’s property investments, and to
highlight any associated risks.
 
The Cabinet Member for Finance and
Growth delivered a brief summary of the report’s
key points.
 
The Head of Commercial Finance was in
attendance to present the information and to address the questions
and the comments of the Cabinet Members.
 
The Officer informed that, commencing
from the next quarter, the report would be authored by the Director
of Corporate Services. Responsibility for the report would fall
under the delegations of the Cabinet Member for Finance and Growth,
given that its content primarily pertained to matters within their
portfolio.
 
Resolved that the report,
including the assessment of risk with regard to the
property portfolio included at paragraph 10, Appendix two be
noted.
 
Reason for decision:
The report was provided for
Members’ information. Awareness of the financial implications
of the Council’s property investments was essential to enable
informed decision-making.
