The Leader of the Council declared a personal interest in Item 17, Sustainable Materials and Manufacturing Centre - Grant Acceptance, by virtue of his appointment to the Atom Valley Mayoral Development Zone Board.

Cabinet considered a report of the Director of Economy and Place seeking approval to accept two grant funding awards to support the delivery and operation of the Sustainable Materials and Manufacturing Centre (SMMC) at Kingsway Business Park.

The Portfolio Holder for Regeneration and Housing introduced the report. The report author presented the report and responded to questions and comments from Cabinet Members.

Cabinet noted that the funding would support the transition of the SMMC from a completed building into a fully operational innovation centre, capable of supporting advanced materials and manufacturing research, innovation and business growth.

Resolved that the recommendations set out in section two of the report be agreed.
