Full council record
Decision
Cabinet considered a report of the Director of Public Health and Communities which sought approval for the second phase of the Crisis and Resilience Fund for the period October 2026 to March 2029. The report outlined a whole-system approach designed to provide immediate crisis support while strengthening longer-term resilience, community capacity and coordination. The proposals were aligned with the Council’s Anti-Poverty Strategy and wider objectives relating to health, wellbeing and neighbourhoods.
The Public Health Development Manager presented the report and responded to questions and comments from the Cabinet Members.
Cabinet Members held a wider discussion on service delivery arrangements and support for the voluntary and community sector. While linked to the themes of the report, these matters were separate from the specific proposals and recommendations under consideration.
Cabinet also requested further reporting on arrangements for supporting the voluntary and community sector and opportunities to maximise the effectiveness of service delivery across the borough.
Resolved that the recommendations set out in section two of the report be approved.
Reason for decision:
As set out in section three of the report.
Alternatives considered and rejected:
As set out in section four of the report.
