Purpose

To seek approval from Cabinet Members to the
proposed subletting of office space at Number One Riverside, with
internal reorganisation of RBC staff and internal
alterations.

Content

The Cabinet considered
a report of the Director of Economy and Place which provided an
update on interest received from a third party to take a lease of
part of Number One Riverside, Smith Street, Rochdale. The report also sought approval to proceed
with the letting, should the interested party intend to proceed
with it.
 
Resolved that the
recommendations outlined at point 2 of the report be agreed.
 
Reason for
decision:
As outlined at point 3
of the report.
 
Alternatives
considered and rejected:
Not to enter into a
lease with the interested party. This would result in the potential
to raise significant rental income for the Council for a minimum
period of five years and possibly ten years being lost.
