The Conduct Committee is responsible for the
promotion and maintenance of high standards of conduct within the
Council, including:

Promoting and maintaining high standards of conduct by Members of
the authority.
·
Assisting Members of the authority to observe the authority’s
code of conduct.
·
Advising the authority on the adoption or revision of a Code of
Conduct.
·
Monitoring the operation of the authority’s Code of Conduct
for Members.
·
To assess, consider and determine complaints of breaches of the
authority’s Code of Conduct, in accordance with the
Council’s approved procedures.
·
Grants dispensations to Members from requirements relating to
interests set out in the authority’s Code of Conduct.
·
Advises the Council on maintaining high standards of ethics and
probity and to review all codes of conduct relating to ethic and
probity affecting officers and Members.
·
Considers reports which may come from Government, the Ombudsman or
other external sources relating to standards of conduct and to make
recommendations to the Council.
·
Considers any Monitoring Officer reports relating to Members’
conduct and probity.
·
Carries out all of the functions above inclusive in relation to
parish councils within the county and their Members.
