The
Planning Committee usually meets monthly, it considers and makes decisions in respect
of:-

The determination of all and
any planning, listed building, advertisement or other allied
applications and functions not specifically delegated to
officers;
·
Any agreement regulating
development or use of land under Sections 106 and/or 106A of the
Town and Country Planning Act (TCPA)1990;
·
Any enforcement powers under
any legislation relating to town and country planning or associated
matters;
·
Any formal comment or view
on applications or proposals to be determined by any Statutory Body
and government departments relating to matters within the remit
of
·
the Committee;
·
Making any Direction, Order
or issuing or serving any Notice under any legislation relating to
town and country planning; and
·
Any function under the
Planning (Hazardous Substances) Act 1990 or the Planning (Listed
Buildings and Conservation Areas) Act (LBA) 1990.
Up
until May 2024, the Committee also had responsibility for Licensing
matters. These are now dealt with separately by the
Licensing Committee.
Requests to speak on planning
applications can be made after the agenda for the relevant meeting
has been published. In accordance with
the Speaking Scheme at Part 5 of the Council’s
constitution.
