Purpose

To award the ‘Treatment of Food
Waste’ contract to Fernbrook Bio Limited.

Decision

On 12 November 2024, Cabinet approved the
introduction of a new separate weekly food waste collection.

The procurement process has been conducted by the Councils
Procurement Team, in line with the requirements of the Procurement
Act 2023 and the Council’s Contract Procedure Rules.
Following a successful procurement process, Fernbrook Bio Limited
achieved the highest overall score.

Alternative options considered

An alternative would be not to award the
contract. This would mean we do not have disposal arrangements in
place for food waste roll-out.
