Purpose
The interactive Isandbox forms part of a wider
Summer Exhibition at the Museum. It is aimed at younger children
who can manipulate the sand to create over 20 different
interactives. From the creation of a volcano and watching it erupt
to augmenting dinosaurs and digging for their virtual bones and
finding out what species it is. It meets the S106 requirement to
enable the “Improvement of Oakham Museum”
Decision
To support the project with the sum of
£1,628 from S106 contributions.
Alternative options considered
The alternative option would be to not support
funding for this project. There is funding available from unspent
S106 agreements and no other project coming forward to take
advantage of this at present. There is a risk that unspent S106
monies would need to be re-paid to developers in due
course.
