Purpose

Safety concerns regarding speeding traffic
near a primary school and pedestrian route to primary school.

Previous work has been carried out by RCC on this site to tackle
speeding, however the measures have not been effective. A Community
speed watch was carried out and it had a very high number of
non-compliant drivers.

The measures are to help reduce vehicle speeds around the school
entrance.

February 2021, Cabinet APPROVED:

Delegated authority to the Strategic Director for Places in
consultation with the Porftolio Holder for Culture and Leisure,
Environment, Highways and Transport and Road Safety to:

Approve the design, construction/implementation and sped of/on ITCP
schemes with a value between £10,001 and
£200,000.

Create or modify traffic regulation orders in order to deliver
schemes or works associated with the highway and transport teams
(and sub areas – including but not limited to parking),
subject to the traffic regulation
