Purpose

Following resurfacing only the essential lines
were put back to ensure any previous markings did not conflict with
ITCP-2019-10. The new sign will mimic the signage on the eastern
approach to the gateway and the lining/red HFS will highlight the
junction. The solid white lines either side of the hatch markings
will make it an offence to overtake, the accidents at this location
generally happen when a vehicle chooses to overtake another
vehicle.

Decision

To prevent overtaking and reduce RTC in this
area.
