Purpose

To confirm the extension of the existing
Integrated Waste Management and Services Contract.

Decision

The current Integrated Waste Management and
Services contract is due to end on 31st March 2024.

On 7 November 2022, Council resolved the following:

‘Approves the short-term procurement, direct award or
extension of existing contracts for waste collection, disposal and
recycling to secure interim short term provision, as appropriate,
for a period of up to four years relying on the justifications
contained in this report and delegation of authority to the
Strategic Director for Places in consultation with the Portfolio
Holder with responsibility for Waste Services to award the
contracts. ‘

The extension process has been supported by the Councils in-house
Procurement Team and both Internal Legal support and external legal
support provided by Trowers Hamlin in line with the requirements of
the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 and the Council’s
Contract Procedure Rules.
