Purpose

The Rutland Water Partnership (RWP) is one of
the outside organisations to which the Council appoints elected
Members as its representative. The Council is entitled to two seats
on the Partnership.

Due to an administrative error only one Member (Cllr K Heckels) was
appointed at Annual Council in May 2024. A second Member (Cllr G
Clifton) was nominated with consent from all Group Leaders, but
this was not included in the list approved by Council.

The Chief Executive has delegated authority to make appointments to
outside bodies in consultation with the Leader and this decision
sought approval for appointment of Cllr Clifton to fill the vacant
seat to which he would have otherwise been appointed at
Council.

Decision

To appoint Cllr G Clifton as the
Council’s second representative on the Rutland Water
Partnership for the remainder of the 2024/25 municipal
year.
