Purpose

To approve the Tree Maintenance and Assessment
Policy 2024

Decision

The Tree Maintenance and Assessment Policy was
last approved in 2016. The policy outlines the Councils approach
taken to managing trees within the county.

An updated policy is required to ensure the provision of a fair and
consistent service, to ensure best practice and to define expected
standards. The policy provides a clear overview of the services
provided by the Council, ensuring residents understand what is
expected of them and what they can expect to receive from the
Council.

Alternative options considered

An alternative option would be not to
implement the updated policy. This is not recommended due to the
need to have robust policies in place in order to effectively
manage the services.
