EC: Committed to sign up to the Charter

The
reasons are:
·
Provide stability to the people of Salford accessing
Citizens Advice Salford services in this time of uncertainty with
the cost-of-living crisis and changes to benefits.
·
Work with Citizens Advice Salford and partners to
redevelop Care Act 2014 Advice Service.
Options
considered and rejected were:
To go out to procurement for a
new service.
Assessment of risk:
Low risk extending the contract
provides stability to the current service provider. It always the
council to redesign the Care Act Information and Advice service to
make it fit for purpose.
Low risk that SCC could be open
to challenge through the 12 month contract extension as the
contract is being extended outside of the scope of exemptions
contained within regulation 72 PCR.

Revenue.
