Salford City Council - Record of Decision
I Councillor Jack Youd, Deputy City Mayor and Lead Member for Finance, Support
Services and Regeneration, in exercise of the powers contained
within the City Council Constitution and in consulltation
with Cabinet, do hereby approve the proposed expenditure of up to
£1,250,000.00 of the section 106 contributions for Education
Provision towards the expansion of Hilton Lane Primary School,
Little Hulton for early years provision.
The Reasons are: to meet the requirement of the relevant section 106
agreement detailed within the report. The section 106 agreement
requires the education contributions to be directed towards
“the provision of increased capacity to an existing or
new primary school(s) in Walkden North, Little
Hulton, Boothstown, Worsley and/or
Ellenbrook”. The Hilton Lane Primary School project has been
recommended by Children’s Services as the current priority
for most of the section 106 funding that is currently available for
education purposes from the Brackley Golf Course development.
Options considered and rejected were: none
Assessment of Risk: Low - Developers can seek to legally challenge
the city council to claim back section 106 monies if not used in
accordance with the terms of the relevant section 106
agreement.
