East Local Area Committee

The East Local Area Committee, comprising councillors from Darnall, Manor Castle, Park & Arbourthorne, and Richmond Wards, empowers communities by increasing their control over local decision-making. It provides a framework for prioritising and directing council services, oversees the creation of annual Area Committee Plans reflecting resident priorities, and works with local partners to ensure services meet community needs.

The committee monitors the delivery of these plans, holds those responsible accountable, and is empowered to set priorities and direct resources. Public meetings are open, with opportunities for residents to ask questions and submit petitions, though certain topics are excluded, such as individual planning applications or matters outside the council's responsibility.
