14.1

Members considered a report of
the Executive Director, Neighbourhood Services seeking approval of
a revised gas servicing policy. This has been updated to better
reflect the legal obligations of the Council in renting its
properties and provides more clarity on what the annual programme
aims to achieve.

 

 

14.2

RESOLVED
UNANIMOUSLY: That the Housing Policy
Committee approves the revised Gas Servicing Policy in the form
attached at Appendix A to the report.

Reasons for Decision

14.3.1

The Housing Policy Committee is
recommended to approve the revised gas servicing policy for
Sheffield City Council included at Appendix A. This revised policy
has been updated to better reflect the legal obligations of the
Council in renting its properties and provides more clarity on what
the annual programme aims to achieve.

 

 

14.4

Alternatives Considered and Rejected

14.4.1

Sheffield City Council are not
required to have a clear policy for gas servicing due to the legal
and regulatory obligations to carry out this activity, but we feel
it is best practice to have one in place.

 

 

14.4.2

We feel that the current gas
servicing policy required updating to better reflect the legal
obligations of the Council in renting its properties and provides
more clarity on what the annual programme aims to achieve.
Therefore, we do not feel it is viable to not make changes and
update this policy.
