RESOLVED
UNANIMOUSLY: That the Waste and Street
Scene Policy Committee approves the proposed policy, as set out in
Appendix A to this report, to be implemented
immediately.

11.3

Reasons for Decision

11.3.1

The proposed policy is designed
to:

• Provide event organisers
and landowners with a clear document outlining the process for SAG
partners to advise upon the safe running of their event, thereby
ultimately protecting the public at large;
• Define a framework for
the administration of the SAG meetings;
• Define roles and
responsibilities of SAG partners and other attendees at the
meetings.

11.4

Alternatives Considered and Rejected

11.4.1

Alternative Option 1:

Continue to operate the Open
Air Events SAG meetings without a policy document.

This would reduce clarity for
event organisers and landowners, particularly those responsible for
smaller community or charity events who may be unfamiliar with the
SAG process.
