8.1

The Head of Programmes and Accountable Body
and Economic Strategy Manager were in attendance to present the
first performance report to Committee since agreeing the first set
of measures to be reported at its meeting on the 23rd October 2025. It provided the
Committee with an overview of economic measures and performance for
a range of services within the remit of the Economic Development,
Skills and Culture Policy Committee.

 

 

8.2

RESOLVED UNANIMOUSLY: That the Economic
Development, Skills and Culture Policy Committee:
 
a)    
Note the Performance Report update provided for up to Quarter 2 of
2025/26
b)    
Provide feedback on further improvements to performance
monitoring
c)    
Agree to the next Performance Report being an annual review and
brought to Committee in June/July 2026

Reasons for
Decision

 

 

8.3.1

Performance reporting helps to support
transparency, accountability and continued improvement, ensuring
that Members are well-informed and able to respond effectively to
emerging challenges and opportunities. The Economic Development,
Skills and Culture Policy Committee has delegated authority to
monitor the performance of its services to ensure that:
 
a)   
The service is delivering for the people of Sheffield
b)   
Limited resources are maximised due to budgetary pressures
c)   
The Council is delivering on corporate priorities

Considered and Rejected

 

 

8.4.1

The Economic Development, Skills and Culture
Policy Committee has delegated responsibility for the regular
monitoring of data including performance and financial information,
and the performance monitoring of Economic Development, Skills and
Culture Committee services. Therefore, no alternative options to
the production of this report have been considered.
