Purpose
The report seeks to set out the
recommendations that the Childrens Services, Education and Skills
Scrutiny Board made to the Cabinet Portfolio Holder for Children
and Education at the meeting on Wednesday 4th July 2023.
Decision
RESOLVED:
The Cabinet Member on receiving
the recommendation from the Children’s Services, Education
and Skills Scrutiny Board approved them and authorised Officers
to:
(i)
Review the text of the complaint page to ensure it
is as user friendly as possible.
(ii)
That the wording on the anonymity of complaints be
strengthened to reassure people that may wish to make a
complaint.
(iii)
Carry out a review of the 12-month time limitation
on someone making a complaint to ensure that a young person who
accessed services at that time but now wishes to make a complaint
can do so.
(iv)
Work with OVOS to address concerned on the domain
security of its website to help prevent spoofing.
(v)
Better highlight the role that a Ward Councillor can
play in supporting someone through a complaint.
(vi)
To ensure that the Mind of My Own App is publicised
more widely and added to
the appropriate webpage.
