Committee thanked members and officers for
their support to the committee in its scrutiny of the proposed
DMP

The Committee RESOLVED to:

RECOMMEND that the current SEND
Strategy and its associated action plan are updated to reflect the
proposed Deficit Management Plan and for the updated strategy to be
scrutinised by Scrutiny Children & Families prior to this being
finalised

RECOMMEND that the Executive
undertakes collective lobbying of Government through the LGA to
secure increases in Dedicated Schools Grant to meet our projected
needs and a commitment from the Secretary of State to review the
existing DSG funding levels so that it provides sufficient levels
of annual funding

RECOMMEND that the Executive
establish a member led programme management board to maintain
oversight and management on the delivery of the proposed Deficit
Management Plan together with this committee establishing its own
oversight of the delivery of the plan. Specific attention is drawn
to the need for early focus on the timelines for delivery and
clarity on accountability.

RECOMMEND – That the Executive
support and provide additional resources for more early help
support and intervention measures

RECOMMEND – That the Executive
provide assurance that data sharing between partners to deliver the
services and support is robust and resilient
